Classroom Setup Day 1

Well, I took the plunge and went to my school.  I didn't get much accomplished, but at least I went and have an idea of what needs to be done.  I do plan on going to tomorrow, but part of the time I will be working with the media specialist for our TTR duties.  (Click here to find out about the TTR)  Afterwards I will work more in my classroom.

Before I begin, I am curious about your schools.  Does your air get cut off during the summer months? Ours does!  So when I say it was HOT, I really mean it was HOT!!!

To begin with, this is the back of my car.  All of these items need to be put in my classroom.  Too bad I didn't do that, oops!

When I opened my door this is what I saw.  Hello, hot mess!!

I decided to start with my bulletin boards.  I didn't realize that the green paper was shiny, but hey it works.  The green board will be for vocabulary Science and Social Studies.  The pink board will be for Standards and EQs.

I totally moved this heavy bookshelf from one side of my room to the other.  I then went through all my books and eliminated ANY book that didn't go along with social studies or science.

Here are the eliminated books.  I will be putting these in the hall with a "free to good home" poster. :)

I rearranged the desks.  However, I have two large tables that need to be removed and my desk will be placed in the back corner, so I'm sure it will look differently soon.

This is to the right of my room when you open the door.

I totally need to tackle this closet though, but I didn't get there today.

Instead I took a selfie of my sweating self and headed out!  I mean you can't see it in this picture, but I was totally rocking a wet teacher, but not from water!  GROSS, I HATE sweating!!!

So yea, I didn't get much done.  I did get started though, which walking down my long hall I can see I was the second out of 9! :)
