Sweet Summer Time, oh how I will miss you!

So last Monday I was a slacker and didn't participate in Monday Made it!  However, this Monday I have two things that I have made.  I plan on visiting my classroom the end of this week to get the desk set up and cleaned.  I then will start decorating and realize the things that I need to add or make!  I'm excited this year because I didn't have to move rooms.  This is the first year that I will unpack my room and stay put for the year.  I feel like I'm taking a little bit more pride in my room and will hopefully have more organized chaos this year! ;)

Anywho, here was my inspiration for my FIRST item...
*Click on the picture to read about her stick holder and how she made it.

Fifth in the Middle is one of my favorite blogs! She has such great ideas for the upper grades! :)

Well mine did not turn out like hers at ALL, but they will serve the same purpose.  I had found cute duck tape in the Target Dollar section and I was like, BINGO!!  They do not much my classroom decor at all, but I liked how each print was dramatically different and would be easy to differentiate with the classes.

After putting together the mustache one *the one I was excited about the most!* I realized that it didn't look good at all.  So I took it off and used another pattern.  *Meow*

My process was simple by the way, wrap with duck tape! :)  The hubby cut the slots after I drew the size that I wanted.

On to number two!  :)  The idea is not mine at all, but I cannot find the original creator because there are so many variations!  Every year I have printed out my Essential Questions or even hand written a few and posted them with thumb tacks.  The purpose is served, but it really is a waste of paper!  I thought why not create the dry erase system that will easily be used throughout the year and look cute! :)

So I bought two frames for $2 each and covered the cardboard back with white paper and then taped down the border that I will be utilizing in my classroom this year.  Afterwards I glued ribbon from the bottom to the top, so it doesn't fall over and VIOLA! :)

I will take a picture once they are hanging up in my room! :)

Thanks for visiting!
